Cookies, Quilts & More Quilts!

It's time to mark your calendars for this year's Cookie Walk and Quilt Show. The United Methodist Women invite you to our annual fundraiser for mission projects. Come see the wonderful quilt display, buy cookies and crafts and quilted items, or eat a delicious soup lunch. Join us on Saturday, December 13th from 10AM - 1PM and invite your friends and family. Everyone is encouraged to help us with this event by providing cookies, crafts, or quilted items to sell; displaying a treasured quilt ; helping us at the event; helping with set-up on Friday, Dec. 12th beginning at 6:00PM. Watch the bulletins in November for volunteer opportunities.

This year we will again have a "Peppernut Baking" night on Friday, December 5th from 7 - 9PM. Bring your peppernut dough and we will roll, cut and bake them together. It's much more fun when you do it with friends! Here is our traditional peppernut recipe.

Crisp Peppernuts

1 stick oleo 1 tsp. Soda
1½ C. sugar 1 tsp. each cinnamon, cloves, ginger
2 T. dark syrup or molasses 1 tsp. anise flavoring
2 eggs
3½ C. flour
Cream oleo and sugar. Add molasses, eggs, and anise. Beat well. Stir in flour which has been mixed with soda and spices. Chill dough. Bring dough to church and we will roll, cut, and bake.

Grace Presbyterian. After we will go for coffee and
a snack at some establishment to be determined by
what sounds good at that time. Be ready to volunteer
for next year’s meetings as I will bring the sign-up sheet.
