2011 Lenten "Feeding the 3,500" Food Drive

March 9 - April 17

3,500 cans of tuna plus 3,500 boxes of macaroni & cheese is what it takes to help feed 3,500 families in one month at the KS United Methodist Open Door food bank.

Since Pleasant Valley UMC reached our 2010 goal of 3,000 cans of tuna plus 3,000 boxes of macaroni & cheese to donate to the KS United Methodist Open Door food bank, we are increasing the goal to 3,500 of each for the 2011 Lenten Food Drive!

The collection point for the tuna and macaroni & cheese will be in the front of the sanctuary.  Tuna is being collected beside the pulpit and the macaroni & cheese beside the lectern.  These items can be brough in throughout the week.

This food drive is sponsored by the Mission & Service Work Area; which thanks you for all you do to help in their ministry to the community.

Good Sam Fund

Each month, the congregation is invited to donate to the Good Sam Fund. This fund provides small cash grants to individuals who have contacted the church in need of short-term financial aid. After following a screening process to qualify, applicants are either referred to agencies in the area or we may decide to help them with a financial gift. The Good Sam Fund has helped families who have fallen behind on utility payments, rent or mortgage payments, prescriptions, etc.
